Peterhead assume top spot

Peterhead went top of the Irn-Bru Scottish Division Three table after a 2-0 home victory over Montrose.

Rory McAllister was the hero for The Blue Toon, scoring twice to take his tally to five goals for the season.

Chances were few and far between in the first half but McAllister brought the game to life just seven minutes into the second period.

Goalkeeper Mark McCallum found the 25-year-old, who curled an unstoppable shot into the top corner, giving David Crawford in the Montrose goal no chance.

The hosts put the game out of sight 20 minutes later with the same players combining to similar effect.

McAllister latched on to another long goal kick from McCallum before slotting past Crawford with ease from inside the area, to secure another victory.
