Ross Salmon to play as Montrose pair miss Elgin visit

On-loan goalkeeper Jordan Miller will be missing for Montrose after suffering an ankle injury in the build up to their game against Elgin.

Ross Salmon is expected to deputise in goal for the Gable Endies, who are also without Paul Watson due to a stomach muscle problem.

Manager Paul Hegarty is looking for his side to bounce back from defeat last weekend. He said: "I have to commend the players for the attitude they showed last week and the way they went about their business however Annan were just a shade better than us.

"Elgin are going well and we need to have a similar attitude in place if we are to do anything in this game."

Elgin have brought in Connor McLaren from St Johnstone on loan, prompting George Hunter to end his temporary period at Borough Briggs.

A third on-loan Saints player, Liam Gordon is out with a knee injury, while Marc McKenzie is struggling to make kick-off due to a knock.

Manager Jim Weir said: "Montrose have been strong at home with wins over Arbroath and Clyde. They have goals in their team and I would much rather be facing them with a full squad.

"We had to be industrious to get a win over Stirling last weekend and need a similar approach in this game."
