Watson misses Elgin clash

Montrose, who will end this season by competing in the first-ever pyramid play-offs, will be without the suspended Paul Watson in their home game against promotion-chasing Elgin.

Injuries continue to rule out Alan Campbell (knee), Marvin Andrews (ankle), Bryan Deasley (knee), Stephen Day (ankle) and Leighton McIntosh (knee).

Manager Paul Hegarty said: "It was terrific to win at East Stirling last weekend as it has increased confidence in the squad and that will be crucial from here on in.

"Elgin were the first opponents we faced when I took over and we lost 4-0, so this will give me an indication of the progress we are making."

Elgin's Jamie Duff and Darryl McHardy will be included in the squad after overcoming the head knocks they sustained when they collided with each other during last weekend's 2-1 win over Arbroath.

Shane Sutherland is an injury doubt, but Archie MacPhee and Craig Gunn should play after shrugging off knocks.

Manager Jim Weir is looking to secure the win that could lift the Moray Men into the play-off places.

Weir said: "We have three games left and if we win them all then we have a very good chance of being in the play-offs.

"If we win this one it puts a bit more pressure on the sides above us, but it will not be easy."
