Garden's squad blooming

Montrose boss Stuart Garden has a welcome selection problem ahead of the visit of East Stirling.

Ross McCord, signed on loan from Alloa, is available and defender Paul Lunan is back after an ankle injury to give him a full squad to choose from.

The Gable Endies stunned Rangers last week with a late goal to secure a 1-1 draw at Ibrox but Garden knows that his players cannot rest of their laurels.

He said: "We cannot sit back and think that because we did well last Saturday that we will automatically win this one.

"The players have trained well this week and accept that they are back to reality in this game against an East Stirling side I reckon are the most improved side in the Third Division."

Jamie McKernon will be missing from the East Stirling squad.

Midfielder McKernon has opted out of extending his loan deal from St Mirren and has headed back to the SPL club.

Also absent for the Shire are Nathan Shepherd (ankle), Rhys Devlin (knee), Jordan Holt (ankle), Philip Zufle (ankle) and Paul Quinn (illness).

However, former Rangers, Alloa and Stranraer striker Max Wright is included as a trialist with boss John Coughlin asking his men to repeat their recent success at Elgin.

He said: "We went up to Borough Briggs a few men down to face a side that had just drawn at Ibrox and we came away with a win. It would be great if lightning could strike twice."
