Double boost for Montrose

Paul Watson and Craig Johnston return for Montrose as they prepare to host East Fife.

Watson has recovered from a broken wrist while former Hamilton striker Johnston is in line for his debut after completing a two-game suspension.

However, the Gable Endies will be without the injured Alan Campbell (knee), Terry Masson (knee), Greg Cameron (hamstring), Stephen Day (broken ankle) and Leighton McIntosh (knee).

Montrose manager George Shields is looking for his men to show their powers of recovery after defeat last time out, he said: "We played poorly at Queen's Park last Saturday and deservedly lost. It was disappointing as we had done very well the week before to defeat Annan.

"I am looking for us to get back to form and see off East Fife."

East Fife have Allan Walker suspended while player-manager Gary Naysmith will delay naming his team until fitness checks are carried out on Caolan McAleer, Kevin Smith and Nathan Austin, who are all carrying knocks.

The Fifers climbed three places in midweek when they defeated Albion Rovers 3-2 and Naysmith is looking for that game to be a turning point in their season.

He said: "We freshened up the squad in January and it was good to see what they were capable of on Tuesday night. It is really important that we build on that performance by getting a win up at Montrose as I believe that we can make the play-offs."
