Montrose aim to get season up and running against Annan

Montrose will be aiming for their first league win of the season when they entertain Annan.

The hosts are again without the injured Chris Hegarty (ankle) and Chris Templeman (hamstring) while Andrew Steeves is an injury doubt.

Manager Paul Hegarty is challenging his men to find the net as he explained: "At the start of last season we were conceding a lot of goals but scoring a lot. This season we have lost very few goals but we are not scoring enough.

"We have only scored twice in the league and Chris (Templeman) has grabbed both of them so the opportunity is there for someone else to find the net for us starting against Annan."

Annan head to Links Park boosted by last Saturday's 3-2 win over Clyde and the availability of Steven Swinglehurst and Aidan Smith after injury.

Willie Robertson is missing due to a foot injury with Galabank manager Jim Chapman looking for his men to hit a consistent level of performance despite their youth.

Chapman said: "We have a young squad who deserve a lot of praise for how they won the Clyde game despite a few setbacks. The next challenge is to show they can produce good performances week in and week out especially at a difficult venue like Montrose.

"I am sure they will try their best to do so."
