McIntosh return put on hold

Montrose will be without Paul Watson (broken wrist) and Stephen Day (broken ankle) when Albion Rovers visit Links Park on Saturday.

Another player who is set to miss out is forward Leighton McIntosh, who continues to be dogged by a knee injury.

Manager George Shields is keen for his players to build on a morale boosting 3-3 draw at Berwick last time out.

"We were losing in injury time but we showed great character to keep going and get a point," he said. "It would be terrific to show that spirit at home and take something from a good Albion Rovers side."

Rovers' player/ manager Darren Young is out after having surgery on a groin problem and he joins Kyle Turnbull (arm) on the sidelines.

Manager Young said: "The last time we played Montrose it was a really tight game that finished goalless.

"To be honest they were the better team so we are looking to impose ourselves much more in this game.

"We have not played for a couple of weeks and I hope there is no rustiness. We have been solid defensively all season and I want that to continue as it gives us a great platform to attack teams."
