Colin Cameron sacked after Berwick lose 4-1 to Montrose
Former Scotland international Colin Cameron was axed as Berwick's player-manager after they were defeated 4-1 at Montrose in Scottish League Two.
A message posted on the club's official Twitter account confirmed the ex-Hearts and Wolves midfielder's 10-month reign had come to an end less than an hour after they were thumped by the Gable Endies.
Gary Fraser scored twice for the hosts, who moved up to second following the victory, getting the ball rolling with a 17th-minute penalty after he had been fouled by Steven Notman.
Fraser set up Ross Campbell to make it 2-0 on the stroke of half-time and although Finn Graham pulled one back with a free-kick early in the second period, Graham Webster soon restored Montrose's two-goal advantage.
Fraser headed in his second of the afternoon with 10 minutes remaining before Berwick called time on Cameron's time in charge.
