Montrose on the up

Montrose climed up to eighth after a 3-1 victory over bottom side East Stirling.

The home side came from behind to record back-to-back victories for only the second time this season.

Kevin Turner put East Stirling into the lead in the 15th minute, clinically converting from the edge of the area after being released by Steven Jackson.

But the lead lasted just nine minutes before Martin Boyle received Paul Lunan's pass in the area and neatly tucked his effort onto the bottom right-hand corner of the net.

Montrose went ahead in the 72nd minute as Gary Wood found the bottom corner from the edge of the penalty area.

Boyle netted his second with seven minutes left, firing home from 12 yards, but was denied a hat-trick in stoppage time by visiting goalkeeper Calum Antell.
