Montrose battle back to earn draw against Queen's Park

Queen's Park extended their unbeaten run to five matches but had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Montrose in Saturday's Scottish League Two clash.

Chris Duggan picked out Paul Woods on the left of the box with the first real chance of note after 16 minutes and the Spiders midfielder slotted the ball into the back of the net to take his tally to 12 for the season.

The opener gave Queen's Park optimism but they failed to add a second before the break and the hosts struck back at the start of the second half as Gary Fraser's free-kick from just outside the 18-yard box floated into the top corner to level matters.

The away side lost Vincent Berry to injury on the hour and he was replaced by John Carter and - despite their numerous chances to clinch a winner - the spoils were shared at Links Park.
