Ryan McCord scores and sees red as Arbroath are pegged back at Montrose

Ryan McCord endured a mixed day as Arbroath were held to a 1-1 draw at Montrose in Scottish League Two.

The striker, a new arrival at the Red Lichties this summer, scored his first goal for the club before he was sent off early in the second half.

Chris Templeman equalised for the hosts with his third goal in as many games to earn a share of the spoils and get Montrose off the mark for the season.

Bryna Prunty was the architect of an impressive first-half performance for Dick Campbell's side, providing a moment of quality as he played in McCord to open the scoring after 34 minutes.

However, the 27-year-old's lack of discipline saw his side reduced to 10 men and gave Montrose the chance to come back into the game, and veteran Templeman grabbed the equaliser with 13 minutes remaining.
