Monaco snap up Wolf from Werder

French second tier outfit Monaco have snapped up Werder Bremen defender Andreas Wolf on a three-year deal, the German side said on Monday without giving further details.

"We always said we were ready to negotiate if a lucrative offer materialised for one of our players or was financially interesting for Werder," said Werder's sporting director Klaus Allofs.

Wolf only joined the northern side last summer from Nuremberg and had made 15 appearances this season for Werder, who sit fifth in the Bundesliga.

Former Champions League finalists Monaco, in contrast, are a lowly 18th in the French second division.
