Neil Shipperley was born in Chatham, Kent in 1974. During the 2003-2004 season he was captain of Crystal Palace and it was then the team earned promotion to the FA Cup. Neil started his career at Chelsea after leaving Bishopshault Comprehensive School in 1991. In the autumn of 1994 he was loaned to Watford and soon after his return he transferred to Southampton. He spent 2 years at the club before he moved on to Crystal Palace in the November of 1996. After making 61 appearances for Crystal Palace he moved to newly promoted Nottingham Forest. He has also played for Barnsley, Wimbledon and Crystal Palace again.
