Smith blow hurts Dons

MK Dons midfielder Gary Smith faces a couple of months out of action after straining knee ligaments in the 3-2 win over Notts County.

Smith lasted the full 90 minutes against the Magpies, but will now be absent until the start of November after a scan revealed the extent of his knee injury.

The 22-year-old initially joined the Dons in March 2004 on loan from Middlesbrough, before completing a permanent switch in the summer of the same year.

He has netted 11 goals in 74 first-team outings for the Milton Keynes-based club.

Meanwhile, Dons defender Craig Morgan has suffered a broken nose in training and is likely to be out for around a month.
