O'Hanlon faces long lay-off

MK Dons defender Sean O'Hanlon has been ruled out of action until 2010 after knee surgery.

The 26-year-old injured his knee in April and the operation is set to keep him out for the first half of the season.

Assistant manager Karl Robinson admitted the loss of O'Hanlon was a blow.

"He's a great lad and we wish he was fit. Sometimes you've got to play the hand you've been dealt," he told the club's official website.

"We now need to get in a player who can perform to the same level that Sean has for the last three years."

O'Hanlon has made 138 appearances during three years with the Dons.
