Lewington pens Dons deal

Milton Keynes Dons defender Dean Lewington has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until July 2010.

The 23-year-old full-back has been with the Dons since signing professional terms five years ago, and has become a fans' favourite.

Lewington has been an ever-present in Paul Ince's side this season and recently made his 200th appearance for the club against Grimsby Town.

As part of a defensive unit which has kept eight clean sheets this season, Lewington is one of the reasons why the Dons have opened up a four-point lead at the top of the table.

He told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to have signed and hope to play my part in this club's big future.

"We're going where we want to go as a club, I'm enjoying my football and there's nowhere else I want to be at the moment."
