MK Dons manager Paul Ince has lauded young striker Sam Baldock following his impressive brace of goals in the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy win against Northampton Town.
The Dons stormed into a 3-0 half-time lead and this was aided by Baldock's sublime finish and a penalty which put the contest out of sight.
Although the visitors pulled a goal back in the second half, Baldock received the plaudits from his manager, who likened him to an England great.
Speaking to the club's official website, Ince said: "Sam's one of those players that, when he's one-on-one, you always feel like he's going to score.
"He reminds me a bit of Michael Owen, when he was one-on-one I always felt he would hit the back of the net and Sam gives me that kind of confidence."
