Dons target swift appointment

MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman has promised a new manager will be in place 'within weeks and not months' following the departure of Martin Allen.
The Dons chief has revealed he's been inundated with CVs from interested parties following Allen's exit to take the helm at Leicester City.
And Winkelman is looking to make a swift appointment in a bid to continue the momentum which took the Dons to the cusp of promotion to League One last season.
"Nearly every name that you can think of is being thrown at me by various agents and I'm quite excited by hearing the kind of level of people that are now interested in the job," he told the club's official website.
"The sooner the appointment is made the better, but at the same time it's got to be right.
"There were a hell of a lot of good things that happened with appointing Martin Allen and there were good things happened when we had Danny Wilson.
"Stuart Murdoch, the original manager that moved the team here, also had a heart, and maybe that's another attribute.
"A combination of the managers that have been here - if we can find a person who can combine those talents - then really that would be the ideal candidate."
