Milton Keynes Dons have signed veteran central defender Paul Butler on loan from Leeds United until January.
The 34-year-old has been told he has no future at Elland Road and moves to the National Hockey Stadium to secure first-team football.
Butler was captain at Leeds last season as the club reached the Championship play-off final, but new manager Dennis Wise has decided that the stopper is not part of his plans.
Butler has been with the Whites since the summer of 2004, having previously enjoyed spells with Wolves, Sunderland, Bury and Rochdale.
He has made more than 600 appearances during his senior career, scoring 26 goals.
