Dons skipper provides boost
26 Sep 2007 - 15:15:52
MK Dons have received a boost with the news that skipper Keith Andrews will be fit for Saturday's trip to Morecambe.
The Irish midfielder suffered a head injury during the latter stages of last weekend's 1-0 victory over Darlington, but has been given the all-clear to resume training.
"It looks like I was unconscious for at least a few seconds but I don't really remember," Andrews told the club's official website.
"I came round while I was in the net, but I couldn't tell you much else. Si (head physio Simon Crampton) was trying to get a stretcher but apparently I wasn't having any of it.
"The doctor in Luton told me I had a bit of mild concussion and I needed to get my lip stitched, but fortunately it wasn't too bad.
"I had an anaesthetic injection and a couple of the dissolvable stitches so I'll be fine for the weekend."
