Dons seal Knight coup

MK Dons have boosted their push for automatic promotion from League Two by signing Swansea City striker Leon Knight for an undisclosed fee.

Manager Martin Allen is hoping Knight will form a deadly partnership with Izale McLeod, with the 24-year-old having agreed an initial 18-month contract with the Dons.

Allen told the club's official website: "Leon has an eye for goal, he's quick and has experience and is a player I have had my eye on for a while.

"I am looking forward to working with him because he is an interesting character, but there is no doubt in my mind he will do very well for this club."

Knight started his career as a trainee with Chelsea, before spells with Brighton & Hove Albion and the Swans.

He has also had stints on loan with QPR, Huddersfield Town, Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley.
