Dons miss Swailes influence

MK Dons boss Roberto Di Matteo has admitted that his side have missed the influence of defender Danny Swailes this season.

The 30-year-old centre-half made two appearances back in August, but has since been sidelined by ongoing Achilles problems.

Di Matteo told the Milton Keynes Citizen: "He hasn't joined the squad yet, he is still doing his rehab.

"He had an operation on both his Achilles tendons and it is a very delicate area of your body as a professional athlete and it has taken time to recover from that.

"I know he was one of the best players last year and also that he's respected in the dressing room.

"It has been very frustrating, as in the summer we thought he was going to return from his injury and knew he would be a big boost."
