Dons extension for Baldock

MK Dons have handed a two-year contract extension to teenage striker Sam Baldock.

The 19-year-old has penned a deal which runs until 2010 after scoring two goals in six appearances under new manager Roberto Di Matteo this season.

"Sam is an exciting young player with a bright future," Di Matteo told the club's official website. "We believe and have trust in his ability.

"We can't expect him to be the finished article yet but he has done very well with the chance he has been given.

"Sam's got a great attitude. He wants to learn and, if he keeps developing, he'll be a very important player for this club."
