Dons deny Baldock interest

MK Dons boss Roberto Di Matteo has laughed off speculation linking promising striker Sam Baldock with SPL champions Celtic.

The 19-year-old has made a flying start to the new season, having already scored three times for the League One newcomers, but Di Matteo is unaware of any outside interest.

He told the Milton Keynes Citizen: "I haven't actually seen the papers yet and I haven't been on the phone to Gordon Strachan either.

"It is a little bit early to judge Sam, he is only five to six games into his first season, so let's give him patience and time to develop.

"It's only good for him, for the club and for everyone that he is attracting attention, but I haven't spoken to him about this and I didn't know to be honest."
