MK Dons have boosted their strikeforce with the signing of former Chester City frontman Drewe Broughton.

The 28-year-old has penned a one-year deal with the League Two promotion hopefuls, with the option for a further 12 months if he impresses.

Broughton spent most of last season on loan at Boston United, scoring eight goals, but was unable to help the Pilgrims avoid relegation from the Football League.

Broughton told his new club's official website: "It's been a bit of a crazy summer for me following the relegation with Boston.

"I sorted things out with Chester and as soon as the gaffer called I was more than happy to come here."
