Baldock commits to Dons
15 Jan 2010 - 14:09:39
MK Dons manager Paul Ince has handed a new contract to striker Sam Baldock, while clinching loan deals for two Premier League starlets.
Baldock, 20, has agreed a new three-and-a-half year deal at stadium:mk after bursting on to the scene with 21 goals in 62 first-team outings.
After making a senior debut way back in 2005, Baldock has since gone on to become a regular for the League One outfit as well as earning international honours at Under-20 level with England.
Ince told the club's official website: "I'm over the moon, securing a player of Sam's potential is a massive signing for the club and a clear indication of where we want to go in the long-term.
"I'm sure a lot of clubs will have looked at him, but Sam loves it here, he can see the future is bright in Milton Keynes and, as a home-grown boy, the fans love him."
Meanwhile, the Dons have recruited two players on loan until the end of the season from North London giants Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Milton Keynes-born midfielder Mark Randall has arrived at the club from the Emirates Stadium and is expected to figure in Saturday's trip to Hartlepool United.
Randall is highly regarded by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, having made first team outings in both the Carling Cup and the Champions League.
Joining Randall is 18-year-old Spurs winger Andros Townsend.
