Allen expects McLeod exit

MK Dons boss Martin Allen has revealed that he expects star striker Izale McLeod to leave the club in the summer.

McLeod, 22, has caught the attention of a number of higher division clubs after netting 21 goals during a prolific season.

Allen has revealed that he expected to lose the tenacious marksman in the January transfer window and is resigned to him leaving at the end of the campaign.

"I've no doubt he will probably be leaving in the summer," he told Sky Sports.

"We made a promise to each other at the start of the season that was that and we were both committed to the cause, and that we would review things as we went on. He has stuck to that brilliantly.

"I thought I'd lose him in the January transfer window, though luckily that has passed and he is still here and still scoring goals, but I don't doubt the speculation will start once the season is over."
