Robinson: We deserve play-off place

Boss Karl Robinson insists MK Dons deserve to be in the play-offs after securing a top-six spot with a 2-1 home victory over Notts County. Second-half goals from Sam Baldock and substitute Angelo Balanta put the Dons 2-0 up before Lee Hughes pulled a goal back for County. "We always had belief in ourselves that we were capable of getting out of this league this year," said Robinson. "The first goal was obviously automatic promotion, we're disappointed not to have that, but we're extremely pleased to be in the play-offs with some very good teams. It's what we deserve. "We sat down on the very first day of pre-season and I spoke about application, hard work, endeavour and all the components you need other than talent and they've done that this season. "They're a hungry bunch, that's why you see the arguments quite a lot amongst each other because there's a winning mentality between them." Robinson revealed he will rest players for the final game of the season against Oldham next weekend, he added: "The boys have been phenomenal but the job's not done yet. We've got to go to Oldham, see who we've got fit and I will definitely rest players because I've only got 16 fit players after Luke Chadwick went off injured."
