Robinson backs Dons for promotion challenge

MK Dons boss Karl Robinson believes his side have got what it takes to clinch a play-off place after moving within a point of the top six with a 2-0 triumph over fellow promotion hopefuls Bournemouth. Goals from Lewis Guy and Mathias Doumbe - six minutes in and four minutes from time - handed Dons their first league win in four attempts. The victory may have only left Dons in 12th place, but they are just a solitary point off the Cherries in what is a congested League One table. Robinson said: "I'm delighted for everyone that we got the result. "I thought first half we were excellent - that for me was our best performance for a long, long time. Second half they changed to a route one type of football and we needed a different set of tools. Second half it was about desire, first half was about class. "You are not always going to get the perfect game of football at this level, especially against a good team like Bournemouth. We rode our luck at times but we feel we've got a good enough side here to get into the play-offs."
