Martin could boost Dons

Goalkeeper David Martin could return to the MK Dons' starting line-up when Walsall visit.

Martin, who has played just 45 minutes of football since October 5 due to a calf injury, has resumed light training and will be monitored closely.

While manager Karl Robinson is optimistic he will have his number one back in action, the 33-year-old is not expecting to be able to name Stephen Gleeson (calf) in his squad.

The midfielder has not featured since the 3-2 win over Rotherham and is set to miss out once again along with long-term absentees Dele Alli (ankle), Antony Kay (hip) and Dean Bowditch (hip).

Walsall will again be at full strength for the trip as the midlands outfit look to get back to winning ways.

Saddlers boss Dean Smith is expected to keep faith with the same starting XI who went down 1-0 at home to Coventry last weekend, ending a run of back-to-back victories.

Nicky Featherstone is once more set to get the nod ahead of the more attack-minded Romaine Sawyers in midfield, a tactic which has worked well away from home and which Smith opted to go with on home soil against the Sky Blues.

Milan Lalkovic, Troy Hewitt, Romaine Sawyers and Julian Gray all provide options from the bench.
