Powell poised for comeback

Daniel Powell is on course to make his return for MK Dons when Stevenage visit.

Powell, who is yet to feature this term after suffering an ankle injury in pre-season, has been training all week and, if things continue to go well, could feature on the bench on Saturday. However, fellow winger Dean Bowditch (groin) has suffered a further setback in training this week.

Powell's return means there will be plenty of competition on the wings with Danny Green, Samir Carruthers, who is expected to be fit despite sustaining a neck injury against Peterborough last weekend, George Baldock and Jason Banton all pushing to be involved.

Green, on loan from Charlton, will be hoping to continue on the right-hand side of the attacking trio as he heads into his final two games for the Dons.

Darius Charles is set to return to the Stevenage squad.

The striker has been sidelined for the last four matches with an ankle injury and could replace Jordan Burrow, who limped off during the first half of last weekend's 3-1 defeat by Carlisle.

Winger Lucas Akins is around a fortnight away from returning from ankle surgery and defender Ben Chorley is still battling back to fitness following a groin problem.

Manager Graham Westley may make a host of changes after branding Saturday's defeat "humiliating" so the likes of Lee Hills, Jimmy Smith and Robin Shroot could earn recalls.
