Goalkeeper trouble for Dons

MK Dons hope Ian McLoughlin will recover from an ankle knock to retain his place in goal against Shrewsbury.

With first-choice keeper David Martin set to be absent for a fifth game due to a back complaint, the Dons need McLoughlin to be fit or manager Karl Robinson will have to field an academy teenager on Tuesday night.

McLoughlin was nursing an ankle injury following the goalless draw with Sheffield United on Saturday but the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international is expected to be okay.

Daniel Powell is a doubt after the winger pulled up after half-an-hour at Bramall Lane.

On-loan striker Patrick Bamford made his return from over two months out with a hamstring strain at the weekend and the Chelsea teenager will be involved again after suffering no ill effects.

Midfielder Stephen Gleeson got another 15 minutes under his belt against the Blades as he continues his rehabilitation from a broken foot and the playmaker is expected to be named on the bench again.

However, winger Luke Chadwick will remain out with a hip flexor problem.

Graham Turner has plenty to ponder ahead of Shrewsbury's trip.

Striker Chris Porter and winger Jon Taylor both returned from respective hamstring and groin injuries to start Saturday's frustrating 2-0 defeat at home to Leyton Orient.

The pair's return was part of four changes made by Turner for what turned out to be Town's third successive league defeat, defender Yado Mambo and midfielder Luke Summerfield also coming in.

Rob Edwards continues to miss out with his quad muscle injury but Marvin Morgan, Stephen McGinn and Paul Parry will be pressing for recalls at stadiummk, as will the likes of Luke Rodgers and Rob Purdie.

Long-term absentee Jermaine Grandison is not quite ready but could be involved in Town's matchday 18 at Crewe at the weekend, while midfielder Mark Wright (knee) may well return to training this week but needs to regain match fitness before being considered for selection.
