Gleeson blow for Dons

MK Dons will be without Stephen Gleeson against Sheffield United.

Gleeson is nursing a thigh problem and will join fellow midfielder Samir Carruthers on the list of absentees for the Dons. Carruthers, on loan from Aston Villa, suffered a knee injury last week and on Thursday returned to his parent club.

With Ben Reeves also a doubt due to a calf complaint it is likely that on-loan Fulham midfielder Larnell Cole will make his full debut against the Blades, having made his first appearance for the club as a second-half substitute during the win at Oldham on Tuesday night.

Darren Potter (Achilles), Dean Bowditch (groin) and Tom Flanagan (knee) remain unavailable.

Sheffield United striker Chris Porter is hoping to return to the starting line-up.

Porter was an unused substitute in last weekend's home victory against Bristol City and started on the bench again in the midweek win at Colchester before replacing Jose Baxter late on and converting a penalty.

Winger Ryan Flynn is hoping to return to contention after missing out on Tuesday night due to a knock, but midfielder Stephen McGinn remains doubtful with the back problem that has sidelined him in recent weeks.

Midfielder Ben Davies is likely to retain his starting place after making his full debut in midweek as the Blades chase a sixth straight win in all competitions.
