Nicky Maynard poised for first MK Dons start against Derby

Nicky Maynard could be line to make his full debut for MK Dons when they resume Championship action against Derby.

The former Cardiff striker signed for the Milton Keynes club this week and made his first appearance as a substitute during the Capital One Cup defeat to Southampton.

On-loan Brighton midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey is also likely to be included in the squad having been cup-tied on Wednesday night.

Striker Sam Gallagher, on loan from Southampton, will return to the squad after being ineligible against his parent club but Samir Carruthers is still suspended after his red card against Leeds.

Derby captain Chris Baird will be back in contention for the Saturday lunchtime kick-off after missing two matches with a head injury.

It is hoped Tom Ince will also return to the squad after the winger missed Monday night's goalless home draw with Burnley with a knee knock sustained in training last weekend.

However, Craig Bryson is not yet ready to return from the knee injury he sustained on the opening day of the season and the midfielder continues to build up his fitness.

Rams head coach Paul Clement was pleased with his side's performance against Burnley, despite being disappointed at the stalemate. He could name an unchanged starting line-up, although if Ince is fit it gives him a dilemma.
