Powell could earn Dons start

MK Dons midfielder Daniel Powell is in contention to return to the starting line-up against Brentford on Monday.

The winger came on as a second-half substitute during Friday's 2-0 win over Hartlepool following three weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury. Fellow midfielders Chris Lines and Luke Chadwick are also pushing for starts.

Striker Dean Bowditch (groin) scored on his return to first-team action on Friday and is likely to retain his place in the side.

Manager Karl Robinson will check on goalkeeper David Martin (back) and captain Dean Lewington (knee) but this game looks to have come too soon for the duo.

Izale McLeod will also be assessed after he missed Friday's game with an injury he sustained in training last week, while Antony Kay will serve the second of a three-match suspension.

Brentford have no new injury worries.

The Bees boosted their promotion hopes with a 2-1 win over Notts County on Friday.

Boss Uwe Rosler is still likely to rotate his squad so Liam Moore, Adam Forshaw, Harry Forrester and Marcello Trotta are pushing for recalls.

Rosler also has skipper Kevin O'Connor (ankle) and striker Farid El Alagui (knee) available after long-term injuries, but he is not expected to risk them just yet.

Left-back Scott Barron is still missing after a hip operation and back-up goalkeeper Richard Lee has had shoulder surgery, with neither likely to be back before the end of the season.
