Alli runs amok as Crewe crushed

MK Dons teenager Dele Alli hit a hat-trick as his side overwhelmed Crewe 6-1 at stadium:mk.

The hosts struck first inside three minutes when Darren Potter reacted quickest to neatly play through 18-year-old Alli to confidently slot home from close range.

Steve Davis' men were gifted a leveller three minutes later thanks to a bizarre Kyle McFadzean own goal. The defender looping the ball over goalkeeper David Martin as he attempted a simple back header.

An exciting first 16 minutes took another twist as Dean Bowditch's corner caused chaos among the Crewe defence and Will Grigg poked home, despite heroic efforts from the visiting defenders on the goal-line.

Alli headed in a third from Ben Reeves' cross shortly after the restart, then it was Benik Afobe's turn to net after he raced on to a long ball from Alli.

Alli completed his hat-trick after Tom Hitchcock's clever back-heel found him on the edge of the Crewe box before Reeves rounded off a remarkable display from Karl Robinson's side when he curled his effort past visiting goalkeeper Ben Garratt.
