Morrison rescues Dons

Clinton Morrison grabbed a late equaliser for MK Dons in a pulsating 2-2 draw against Bournemouth at stadium:mk.

Angelo Balanta's close-range volley had given the Dons a deserved half-time lead before two goals from Wesley Thomas turned the game on its head. But Morrison scrambled the ball home to prevent a second successive defeat for the hosts.

Balanta put them ahead two minutes before the break when he nipped in at the near post to volley Dean Lewington's cross through the legs of keeper Darryl Flahavan.

Balanta slotted another good chance wide on the stroke of half-time before Dean Bowditch volleyed against the post and then somehow headed over from only four yards shortly after the break.

But Bournemouth began to get a foothold in the game and Thomas equalised on the hour mark, stealing in unmarked to head home Warren Cummings' free-kick.

Thomas then put the Cherries 2-1 up when he seized upon Gary MacKenzie's woeful pass, but MacKenzie atoned for his error by providing the perfect knockdown for Morrison to bundle in the Dons' equaliser nine minutes from the end.
