Howell seeks revenge with Dons
The Dons lost in the League One play-off semi-final on penalties to Scunthorpe who had finished 11 points behind them in the table.
And the 22-year-old, who signed a new two-year contract this summer, is determined to make up for the disappointment of last season.
"There's a sense of injustice about the end of the season, we all feel we were a bit hard done by, so I can imagine some people being raring to go by the time the fixtures come out," he told the club's official website.
"We have to put it behind us now though and look towards next season, which we'll go into knowing we're good enough to be promoted.
"I think this season will help us in that if we get ourselves into a good position, we'll be better prepared to take advantage of it."
