Easter strike enough for Dons win

The 27-year-old striker tapped in on-loan Blackburn winger Aaron Doran's cross just after the half-hour mark to bag a hard-fought third straight victory for Paul Ince's men. Darren Byfield ran the Dons defence ragged in the early stages but he blazed well wide from the edge of the box and then saw a 22-yard strike saved by Willy Gueret. But Dons began to settle into their stride - despite losing defenders Dean Lewington and David McCracken to injury after innocuous-looking challenges - and Easter put them ahead in the 32nd minute. Teenager Doran skinned full-back Jamie Vincent on the right and crossed low for the unmarked Easter to easily tuck the ball home from two yards. Byfield should have equalised five minutes later when he was denied one-on-one by Gueret and the luckless striker saw his angled 10-yard chip hit the crossbar in the 73rd minute after he had raced onto Matt Richards' defence-splitting pass.
