On-loan QPR forward Balanta was sent-off in the closing stages of last weekend`s 3-2 defeat at Bournemouth and begins a three-match ban while midfielder Peter Leven collected his fifth booking of the season so also sits out.
His one-game absence could see Stephen Gleeson start for the first time since August after he returned from a back injury as a late substitute at Dean Court.
Former Germany midfielder Dietmar Hamann will miss out after injuring his hamstring in the first half while captain Dean Lewington is also absent. The left-back missed out altogether last week with a knee injury which will keep him on the sidelines while Jude Stirling remains a long-term absentee as he battles to recover from a summer groin operation.
