Dons go north of border

MK Dons boss Karl Robinson is putting his players through their paces at a week-long training camp at the University of St Andrews. The trip to Scotland forms part of Robinson's first pre-season since he took over on a full-time basis in May. He told the club's official website: "We had the lads in for a few days last week to start on their conditioning work, but the week away is very important. "I don't always believe in going away somewhere hot for pre-season because you can't necessarily do all the things you need to do. Ideally, you need to prepare in an environment that's close to what you'll face during the season." The club's pre-season schedule begins with a Dons XI travelling to Oxford City on July 15 before facing a trip to St Neots Town two days later. Games against Kettering, Aylesbury, West Ham, Rushden and Birmingham also await before the start of the npower League One campaign.
