Di Matteo delighted by Dons win

Kevin Maher's 25-yard free-kick put the Latics in front before Aaron Wilbraham stabbed home Sam Baldock's cross but Oldham hit straight back when Lee Hughes headed home Daniel Jones' cross only for Jason Puncheon's 30-yard lob to restore parity. But the Dons took control after the break with a brace from Baldock and goals from Alan Navarro and substitute Ali Gerba ending Dons run of four games without a win. Di Matteo, whose side now sit five points behind second-placed Peterborough with three games in hand, could not hide his delight and said: "I'm very happy with the result and very happy with the performance of the team. "I thought we created a lot of chances and we have been playing well lately. As I've said, it's just a matter of scoring the goals. "In the first half, Sam hit the post and then the keeper made a great save from Peter Leven and you think 'oh no, not again'. But we stuck to our gameplan and got back into the game quickly, and it gave us a lift."
