Whitbread transfer listed

Millwall have placed Zak Whitbread on the transfer list after the central defender rejected the chance for contract talks.

The former Liverpool player has 12 months to run on his current deal at The Den and is thought to be seeking a move away from the League One club.

And with the prospect of losing Whitbread for nothing next summer, Kenny Jackett has decided to cash in on the American.

"Zak has one year left on his current contract but has turned down our offer to discuss a new deal," Millwall managing director Andy Ambler confirmed.

"As a result of that, Zak has been placed on the transfer list."
