Millwall boss Nigel Spackman was pleased to see his side clinch their first win of the season by seeing off Oldham Athletic 1-0 at The Den.
A late goal by summer signing Poul Hubertz earned the Lions all three points, a week after they had been thrashed 5-1 at Chesterfield.
Spackman said: "Any win is a good win, but I'm pleased the response from everyone is what I ordered.
"We've shown a good attitude since the defeat and worked hard in training to put things right.
"I'm still thoroughly ashamed of what happened at Chesterfield. The players and myself were rightly under a lot of pressure, but this time the lads can go home with their heads held high.
"There is an expectation about what this club should achieve this season and we must stick together."
