Savage joins up with Lions

Millwall have signed free agent striker Bas Savage on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

Savage, 26, left Brighton & Hove Albion last month after failing to agree terms and has put pen to paper on a contract with the Lions until the end of the season.

The London-born forward has previously played for Reading, Bristol City and Gillingham.

"Bas will give us a more physical presence in both boxes and take some weight off Gary Alexander's shoulders," said manager Kenny Jackett.

"We've got some good players but we've lacked a bit of strength coming off the bench since Adebayo Akinfenwa left."
