Puncheon joy at Millwall start

Millwall winger Jason Puncheon was delighted by his debut performance against Middlesbrough at the weekend, especially his match-winning goal.

The 24-year-old, on-loan from Southampton, netted the only goal of the game in the 25th minute and continually caused problems for the Boro defence throughout the 90 minutes.

"It was good to get a goal but it was good to get three points for the team. We needed that considering how the results have gone before.

"It was to get 90 minutes but the manager believes in his players and that is why he bought me here.

"The gaffer said it`s not a bad thing for me and James (Henry) to swap wings and I think we affected the games but I think we could have been a bit more clinical and got more goals to be honest.

"We worked our socks off and every one came off having sweat blood for the football club and that is what you have to do to get three points."
