No consolation for Lions goal hero

Millwall looked out of the game until Alexander hit a stunning shot on the bounce from 30 yards which sailed over goalkeeper Joe Murphy and into the back of the net. It was an amazing goal which was followed just two minutes later with a close-range header again scored by the forward but Alexander took no pleasure from the achievement after the Iron eventually won 3-2. He said: "To score two goals at Wembley and still end up losing is hard to take. I'd rather not have scored and we had gone up but that's not the case. "The first goal was one of them where we were 1-0 down and I thought "Let's have a shot here." If you don't shoot you don't score and they usually end up in the back of the stand but luckily enough that one ended up in the top corner. "But it means nothing. I don't want to even look at it on tv now. We haven't gone up and I'm distraught."
