Armstrong sends Sky Blues sky high

Coventry's on-loan striker Adam Armstrong struck twice for the second week running to help inflict a heavy 4-0 defeat on Millwall at The Den.

Millwall were given the perfect opportunity to take the lead in the opening four minutes when they were awarded a spot-kick after Coventry goalkeeper Lee Burge had spilled Mark Beevers' drive.

Burge fouled Lee Gregory as he followed up, but had the last laugh by pushing the striker's penalty behind for a corner.

The home side paid the price for that two minutes later as Armstrong caught David Forde off his goalline and beat the Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper with a delightful chip.

Coventry doubled their advantage in the 19th minute when Ruben Lameiras burst into the box and beat Forde at his near post with a left-footed effort.

The visitors pulled further clear five minutes later as Lameiras released Armstrong and the on-loan Newcastle striker beat the Millwall goalkeeper for his fourth goal in two games.

The visiting fans had to wait until 10 minutes from time for Coventry's fourth. Jim O'Brien played a neat one-two with substitute Marcus Tudgay before unleashing an unstoppable shot.
