Dominic Samuel scores twice as Gillingham tame the Lions

Two goals from Dominic Samuel and a Bradley Dack penalty earned promotion-chasing Gillingham a 3-0 victory away at 10-man Millwall.

On-loan Samuel, who had earlier been booked for diving when attempting to round Millwall goalkeeper Jordan Archer, headed in on 20 minutes from a Dack free-kick.

Archer was then dismissed by referee Darren Handley after bringing down Cody McDonald in the area, allowing Dack to slot the penalty past substitute goalkeeper David Forde.

Forde denied Dack shortly before the break and Samuel fired straight at the goalkeeper on the hour after his first effort kindly rebounded back to him.

Millwall top scorer Aiden O'Brien shot straight at Stuart Nelson before his rebound attempt was cleared off the line by Ryan Jackson on 65 minutes.

Nelson denied Lee Gregory from point-blank range 20 minutes from time, before O'Brien headed over from 12 yards out for the hosts.

However, Samuel sealed the victory on 89 minutes, finishing from an acute angle after he latched onto Byron Webster's loose back-pass.
