Jim O'Brien scores on his debut as Scunthorpe see off Millwall

Jim O'Brien marked his debut in style as he scored in injury-time to secure Scunthorpe a fourth straight victory with a 2-0 win at Millwall.

Veteran striker Gary McSheffrey's fifth goal of the campaign from the middle of the box had Scunthorpe leading after 17 minutes and O'Brien - who only joined on loan from Coventry on Monday - drilled home a second from the edge of the area to seal all three points.

After McSheffrey opened the scoring, Aiden O'Brien and Jed Wallace went close to levelling things up before the break, but Luke Daniels was in fine form in the Iron goal.

Ed Upson was forced off on the stroke of the half-time whistle through injury, to be replaced by Ben Thompson as his side went in behind.

The Lions roared out the traps after the restart as Wallace's cross was met by O'Brien, but Daniels was on hand again to keep his side's lead.

Lee Gregory then raced onto Wallace's pass through on Daniels but his lofted effort was wide of the target.

Scunthorpe were soaking up all the pressure and attacking on the counter, with O'Brien adding a late second in time added on.
